Leather label Belstaff to kit out the Dark Knight
Belstaff, the label worn by the likes of Kate Moss and now almost a Glastonbury staple for the celebrity hip, is set to dress possibly the coolest character in film, Batman.
The British biker label formed in the 1940s and now made in Italy, has undergone a serious style transformation since it’s roots as a pure biker label to become the fashion maven's go-to brand when it comes to must-have leather jackets and biker boots.
We adore their A/W 2008 collection. Now they are the cinematic clothier of choice for a number of films from Mission Impossible III, Ocean’s Twelve, and most recently Angelina Jolie's leather-clad killer in Wanted. Christian Bale, returning as Batman in The Dark Knight (also starring the late Heath Ledger) will wear a Belstaff vintage-look leather jacket.
Belstaff's list of celebrity fans is impressive. From Kate Moss to Alexa Chung, the UK's most stylish celebs have been spotted out wearing their jackets recently, (Alexa favours the Deckard Blouson jacket) and even marxist revolutianary Che Guevara wore one of the original Belstaff jackets on his famous motorbike journey across South America. We suggest you get in on this trend for Autumn 2008 and start saving for your Belstaff jacket now.
